Zero Escape 3 Game's Financing Not Available 'At This Stage'

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Kōtarō Uchikoshi, the director of Chunsoft's 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward games, opened an English Twitter account to discuss the status of the game series. A third game was planned for the series but has not moved forward.

Uchikoshi stated that the game series has not sold well in Japan despite being popular overseas and that "in conclusion, unfortunately, I have to say that it is difficult to realize it 'at this stage' yet, although we have done all we can." Uchikoshi apologized and requested that any interested investors in the game contact him on Facebook. Uchikoshi also considered Kickstarter but thinks that Zero Escape 3 would not be convincing enough, and noted also that Kickstarter is not open to Japanese creators.

Fans responded to Uchikoshi's request with a collage showing their support as well as a fan campaign.

Aksys Games released Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward and 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors in North America.
