Love Roma's Toyoda to Launch Obake no Sally Manga
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Manga creator Minoru Toyoda announced on his blog that he will debut the manga Obake no Sally (Sally the Ghost) in the May issue of Shogakukan's Shōgaku Ichinensei magazine in April.
Toyoda wrote that he is excited to start the series because it is the first time he is creating a manga for this young an audience. (Shōgaku Ichinensei literally means "Elementary First-Grader" and is aimed at children in that grade.) He also acknowledged both the excitement and pressure he felt since this is the same magazine that published the "most esteemed manga creator, Fujiko F. Fujio." After co-creating Doraemon, Fujiko ran several manga in this magazine.
Del Rey published all five volumes of Toyoda's Love Roma manga in North America. He went on to publish Tomodachi 100-nin Dekiru kana (I Wonder If I Can Make 100 Friends) in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine and Takewo-chan Bukkai Roku in Shogakukan's Monthly Shōnen Sunday magazine.
