posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Aoi Yuki and Ayana Taketatsu's singing unit petit milady will perform the opening theme for the anime adaptation of Koroku Inumura's Toaru Hikūshi e no Koiuta (A Love Song to a Certain Airship Pilot) light novel series. This will be the first theme song performed by the duo in an anime in which they also star in.
The voice actresses formed the unit this year and have since released the single "Kagami no Dual-ism/100% Cider Girl." Yuki previously performed theme songs for Saki Episode of Side A, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and The World God Only Knows. Taketatsu performed themes for Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!, NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them!, The World God Only Knows, Oreimo, and K-ON!.
The 2009-2011 five-volume light novel series is set in the same world as Inumura's To Aru Hikūshi e no Tsuioku (Recollection of a Certain Airship Pilot/The Princess and the Pilot) novel and anime film, although it is set earlier with a different cast of characters.
Toshimasa Suzuki (Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne, Dance in the Vampire Bund, Heroic Age) is directing the anime off scripts supervised by Shinichi Inotsume (The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke, Hayate the Combat Butler, Ristorante Paradiso). Hiroki Harada (Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, Romeo × Juliet, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal) is designing the characters.
The series will premiere in January according to the official website. Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint previously said that the anime would premiere on television this fall.
