Sakigake!! Otoko Juku, Akira Miyashita's classic Weekly Shonen Jump action comedy manga about a school for delinquents, is inspiring a game for the PlayStation 3. Namco Bandai Games announced the Sakigake!! Otoko Juku Nippon yo, Kore ga Otoko Dearu! (Japan, These Are Men!) game at a stage event at its Tokyo Game Show 2013 booth on Saturday. The accompanying video showed a battle by the manga's characters modeled in 3D, the character Genji Togashi entering an oil bath, Principal Heihachi Edajima, and other elements.
The 1985-91 manga about a boys' private school for delinquents sold 26 million volumes and already inspired games for Famicom (NES), Game Boy, PlayStation, and PlayStation 2. It also inspired a 1988 animated television series and movie, as well as a live-action film by director and actor Tak Sakaguchi (Versus, Death Trance, SHINOBI).
