New Time of Eve Kickstarter Stretch Goal Includes Fan Book
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The Time of Eve Kickstarter campaign updated on Sunday with new announcements. Japanese distributor Asmik Ace has allowed Directions to include the bonus video features and booklet from the Japanese Blu-ray Disc release in the Kickstarter release. The bonus booklet has a short story from director Yasuhiro Yoshiura titled "act0.5: SAME." The story will be included in the 40-page art book that will be bundled with the Kickstarter Blu-ray Disc release. (Directions still need to clear more rights before it can also include the bonus video features.)
Additionally, the campaign has added a stretch goal of US$126,000. If that goal is reached, Directions will translate Kotobukiya's Time of Eve Official Fan Book into English. If the goal is reached, Directions will include a new pledging tier between US$55 and US$100 for the fan book. The fan book includes pages dedicated to the characters, story, background art, Yoshiura's previous works, interviews with Yoshiura, producer Tom Nagae, and the main voice cast, as well as essays and a short story about Sammy.
Yoshiura also posted a video for backers only where he discussed the future of Time of Eve, noting he may return to the series in the future, but currently, Patema Inverted is finished and he is working on another story, the Anime Mirai project "Arumoni" (Harmonie). Yoshiura also discussed what he'd still like to tell about characters in Time of Eve, and discussed the differences between questions overseas fans ask and questions he gets asked in Japan.
The Time of Eve Kickstarter has currently raised US$114,668 as of press time and has 11 days left in the campaign.
