posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website for Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine has announced that Chocolate Underground creator Aiji Yamakawa will launch her Stand up! manga in the magazine's May issue on April 13.
The "small love story" revolves around a tall girl named Utako who is somewhat shy. Yamakawa already drew a one-shot Stand up! manga story in the February issue of Bessatsu Margaret in January.
Yamakawa's Chocolate Underground manga adaptation of Alex Shearer's Bootleg novel ran in Bessatsu Margaret from January-June 2008. Production I.G also produced a mobile phone anime adaptation of the novel that also played in Japanese theaters in January 2009. The satirical novel follows two English boys who create a bootleg chocolate factory after their country bans chocolate.
