A Certain Magical Index Books Have 14 Million in Circulation

An advertisement for the sixth volume of Kazuma Kamachi's Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index (New Testament: A Certain Magical Index) light novels notes that the overall series has 14 million books in circulation. The series had 12.3 million copies in 2011.
As of this month, A Certain Magical Index series will consist of 22 volumes from the original run, the two volumes of A Certain Magical Index SS series, and six volumes in the ongoing Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index series.
Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index consistently tops Oricon's bunko (trade paperback book) sales chart. The first three volumes all landed at number one. The fourth volume sold an estimated 65,983 copies in its first two days.
The fifth volume rose to #3 in October with an estimated 114,753 volumes sold. It ranked under the first volume of Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online.
Volume six of Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index goes on sale on Thursday.
