Kagari Tamaoka's four-panel manga Mangirl! follows the daily life of naive Editor-in-Chief Hana Sasayama (played by Kanako Miyamoto) and "Japan's cutest manga editors" as they attempt to realize their dream of launching the #1 manga magazine — even though they have zero experience in actually editing manga.
The video introduces the show's main cast:
- Kanako Miyamoto as Hana Sasayama
- Yuri Komagata as Aki Torii
- Moemi Otaka as Tsugumi Haraki
- Ayaka Ōhashi as Ringo Nishijima
- Ai Kayano as Shinobu Fujimori
- Ayana Taketatsu as Sayuri Misono
- Eri Kitamura as Hikari Ayano
- Aoi Yūki as Kiiro Sakuradai
Nobuaki Nakanishi (Shin Koihime Musō, Kasimasi - Girl Meets Girl) is directing at the studio Dogakobo. Masahiro Yokotani (Maria Holic Alive, Steins;Gate) and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Bakuman.) are writing the script. Yoshida is also in charge of series composition, and Shinya Ojiri (Yuruyuri♪♪) is serving as animation director. Yasu (Joshiraku, Toradora!) created the original character designs for the manga.
Voice actresses Miyamoto, Komagata, Otaka, and Ohashi are also performing the theme song "girl meets DEADLINE" under the group name M@N☆GIRL!.
The anime will premiere in Japan on January 2. Crunchyroll will stream the series in various countries outside of Japan as it airs starting on the same day.
