Producer: New Godzilla Likely to Film in Vancouver

North American Godzilla film producer Dan Lin revealed in a Collider interview that the film is in deep pre-production but filming is likely to begin in Vancouver, British Columbia in March.
Lin was tight-lipped about other details, stating that he wants "audiences experience it with the rest of us" when asked if the film would throwback to previous Godzilla origin stories. He also declined to comment whether the film would involve Asian content.
Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures are producing the film with Lin (Sherlock Holmes), Roy Lee, Brian Rogers, Yoshimitsu Banno, Kenji Okuhira, Doug Davison ,Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni. Gareth Edwards (Monsters) is directing the adaptation with Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Sherlock Holmes 3) rewriting the script by David Callaham (Doom, The Expendables), David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Rises, Blade Trinity) and Max Borenstein's (Swordswallowers and Thin Men).
The film is slated for a May 16, 2014 release in theaters.
