Crunchyroll Reaches 100,000 Subscribers
posted on by Joseph First
The online media service Crunchyroll announced that they have reached the milestone of 100,000 paid subscribers. Less than one year ago, Crunchyroll investor TV Tokyo announced that the site had more than 70,000 subscribers.
Crunchyroll legitimized itself in 2009 partnering with TV Tokyo to bring same-day anime streams to the world wide web. The site now streams more than 80% of all anime airing in Japan. Co-founder and CEO Kun Gao says that the site "is eyeing other territories" after its expansion into the Latin American sectors earlier this year.
