Siren Visual Acquires Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales

Classic Japanese horror stories to be released in Australia.
Ayakashi - Samurai Horror Tales is a set of 11 episodes covering three classic Japanese horror stories. The first is "Yotsuya Kaidan" based on the original kabuki play by 18th century playright Nanboku Tsuruya and follows a wife who seeks vengeance against the husband who betrayed her. Directed by Tetsuo Imazawa with screenplay by Chiaki J. Konaka (Armitage III, Astro Boy, The Big O). "Tenshu Monogatari" is a story of forbidden love between a goddess and a human. Based on a play by Kyōka Izumi with character design by Yasuhiro Nakura (Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Metropolis) and art direction by Shinzō Yuki (Air, Boys Over Flowers). The final story is "Bakeneko," the story of a mysterious cat monster with a vendetta against a certain family. Direction by Kenji Nakamura (C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility, Welcome to Irabu's Office, tsuritama) from a script by Michiko Yokote (Cowboy Bebop, Joshiraku, Genshiken) and character design from Takashi Hashimoto (Welcome to Irabu's Office, C for Control, Mononoke)
