Sailor Moon Ranks as #2 March Graphic Novel in U.S. Bookstores
posted on by Egan Loo
The fourth volume of Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon manga ranked #2 in Nielsen BookScan's list of top 20 graphic novels in American bookstores for March. The American graphic novel series The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman not only held the top spot with its first compendium, but also a record seven of the top 10 spots, and 12 of the top 20 spots.
The 55th volume of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga placed #3, and the Naruto: The Official Character Data Book came in at #20. The other two manga titles in the top 20 are the 13th volume of Kanoko Sakurakoji's Black Bird (#11) and the 61st volume of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece (#14).
The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Walmart, and some other venues.
