Japanese News Show to Air New Tamayura Anime Footage
posted on by Egan Loo
The official blog of the Tamayura - Hitotose anime announced on Friday that Today's Close-up (Close-up Gendai), a news magazine program from the Japanese public broadcaster NHK, will air a feature on Tamayura on March 7. In addition, the feature will include new Tamayura anime footage created specifically for Today's Close-up.
The Tamayura feature is part of the episode's overall coverage of "pilgrimages" that anime fans take to towns depicted in anime. Today's Close-up just aired a feature on the virtual Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku on February 28.
The Tamayura - Hitotose anime follows a girl named Fū Sawatari (voiced by Ayana Taketatsu) after she moves to Takehara, a town that was her late father's childhood home in Hiroshima Prefecture near the Seto Inland Sea. Tamayura is the third "healing anime" from prolific director Junichi Satō after Aria and Umi Monogatari ~Anata ga Ite Kureta Koto~. He first developed Tamayura as a four-episode video series in 2010, and it then turned into a television anime series that ran from October to December of last year.
