Manga Schedules Black Butler II for July (Updated)
posted on by Andrew Osmond
Manga UK has tweeted that it will release both the series Black Butler II and its OVA spinoff Black Butler II: Ciel in Wonderland in July. In subsequent tweets, Manga said it would be releasing the anime as a three-disc Complete Series Collection, which would consist of 18 episodes. (The TV run of Black Butler II consists of 12 episodes; there were also six additional episodes released as OAVs, including the two-part Ciel in Wonderland.)
The original Victorian supernatural anime Black Butler was released on U.K. DVD in 2011, based on a manga by Yana Toboso. It featured a twelve-year old aristocratic boy (Ciel Phantomhive) and his impeccably handsome, soft-spoken, black-suited butler Sebastian. Phantomhive comes from a line of unofficial royal servants, investigating cases that conventional police can't solve. The nature of Sebastian becomes clear during the series, as he helps Ciel fight various supernatural adversaries.
