Tales of Xillia Anime Not Announced in Magazine
posted on by Egan Loo
ANN obtained the January 2012 issue of Kadokawa Group Publishing's Viva Tales of Magazine and confirmed that it is not announcing an anime based on Namco Bandai Games' Tales of Xillia game on Monday. While the issue does discuss the recently released role-playing game for the PlayStation 3 console (as well as new animation footage that Production I.G is creating for January's Tales of Innocence R game), it does not mention an anime.
Seven Net Shopping, the online retail site of the 7-Eleven convenience store chain in Japan, listed "Tales of Xillia the Animation" in the contents of this issue. However, it later removed the "Tales of Xillia the Animation" text from its listing. Namco Bandai Games has yet to announce an anime adaptation of this game.
A few of the earlier games in the "Tales of" franchise — Tales of Eternia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Phantasia, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Vesperia — already inspired anime adaptations.
