New People Entertainment Announces DVD Release Of AKB48 Documentary

NEW PEOPLE Entertainment, the North American distributor of Japanese live-action films, announced the sale date for the DVD release of Documentary of AKB48 -- To Be Continued. The DVD documentary of the Akihabara based J-Pop group is slated for December 1 on New People's online store and will hit Amazon later that month. The DVD will be available for US$19.99 or a two day streaming rental for US$4.99.
Documentary of AKB48 -- To Be Continued provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what life is like for the female performers. The biographical film incorporates footage of rehearsals and performances, elections of members, and fan activities both within Japan and abroad. The documentary made its stateside debut August 28 at San Francisco's J-Pop Summit. Seiji Horibuchi, President and CEO of NEW PEOPLE, Inc. says “This insightful documentary captures AKB48 on-stage and behind the scenes and offers a candid look into the member's lives and the phenomenal notoriety that surrounds the group."
