Sentai Filmworks Adds Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahō Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that it acquired the Modern Magic Made Simple (Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahō) television anime series. Sentai Filmworks will release the show on subtitled DVD this December.
The show's story revolves around Koyomi Morishita, a clumsy high school freshman girl who is often mistaken for a grade-schooler because of her shortness. Koyomi becomes a disciple of Misa Anehara, a 25-year-old graduate student who happens to be one of the most powerful modern-day magicians.
The anime was adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka's (All You Need Is Kill, Slum Online) original light novel series. Chocotto Sister and Kyōran Kazoku Nikki director Yasuhiro Kuroda oversaw the animators at Nomad, while Makoto Koga (Aria, Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan) adapted the characters that were originally drawn by the original novel's illustrator and manga adaptation artist, Miki Miyashita (Maburaho).
Crunchyroll simulcasted the series outside of Japan when it originally aired in 2009.
