Momoiro Clover Z's 1st Album Debuts in Weekly Top 3
posted on by Egan Loo
Battle and Romance, the first album from the now smaller female idol group Momoiro Clover Z, sold 24,000 copies to debut at #3 on Oricon's weekly album sales chart. The July 27 album's #3 ranking matched the best ranking that the group achieved with its major debut single ("Ikuze! Kaitō Shōjo") and its third major single ("Mirai Bowl") under its former name, Momoiro Clover.
Kanako Momota, Shiori Tamai, Ayaka Sasaki, Momoka Ariyasu, and Reni Takagi make up Momoiro Clover Z's current lineup. The group was known as Momoiro Clover until this year; the sub-leader Akari Hayami left the group in April.
The new album features 13 tracks, including one bonus track. It contains the earlier hit singles such as "Mirai Bowl," "Pinky Jones," and "Ikuze! Kaitō Shōjo," — remixed with the current five-member lineup. It also contains newer songs such as "Wani to Shampoo" and "Orange Note," which fans wanted to be put on CD.
"Mirai Bowl" is the ending theme song for the Dragon Crisis! television anime series. Momoiro Clover also sang the "Pinky Jones" ending theme for the Yosuga no Sora anime. "Wani to Shampoo" is the theme song for the ongoing Double-J television anime series.
