Supanova Sydney follows on from April's Supanova Melbourne and Brisbane events. Matt Greenfield, Tiffany Grant and Yūko Miyamura, previously only scheduled to attend the Melbourne and Brisbane shows, will be in the guest line-up at Supanova Sydney, as well as Supanova Perth the following weekend.
Events for anime fans include screenings, panels (including panels hosted by Madman and Siren Entertainment), traders, a cosplay competition, live dubbing and the Sydney round of the Madman National Cosplay Championship. The film Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance will be screened as part of the Friday 'preview night.' Ticket details and prices are available on the website.
Other convention news
Armageddon: The announcement for the new dates of Armageddon Christchurch has been edited to clarify that the event will still go ahead on July 2nd and July 3rd, despite the earthquake occurring on June 13th. The original Armageddon Christchurch expo was cancelled due to the February 22nd earthquake causing severe damage to the city, but the new venue is unaffected by the recent aftershocks.
AVCon: AVCon announced that fundraising through Fundbreak to cover travel costs for guest LittleKuriboh to attend the conversation successfully reached the target amount of $3000.
Manifest: Pre-registration for this year's Manifest convention has been extended to July 24th. Tickets can be pre-registered on Manifest's online store.
