One Piece Anime's Uno Card Game Reissued
posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese conglomerate Bandai is collaborating with the toy and game maker Mattel to reissue The One Piece pirate anime version of Mattel's Uno card game with new designs on July 7.
The 1,260-yen (about US$15.70) deck and package all feature original art. For example, the number cards are illustrated with the various characters from the Straw Hat Pirates' adventures. The Reverse, Skip, Wild, Draw 4, and other special cards have still more characters such as Law, Kidd, and Blackbeard.
In addition, the Uno One Piece deck has two exclusive cards: the Fire Fist Ace card that doubles the effect of other cards and the Hancock card that turns another player into stone for one round. Under the special rules, a player can say "I'm gonna be the Pirate King!" instead of "Uno!" when only one card remains.
Bandai and Mattel first collaborated to create a One Piece Uno card game (with earlier designs and different exclusive cards) in 2003. They also released a Doraemon game.
