Newport Beach Film Fest to Show Redline Anime Film
posted on by Gia Manry
The official schedule for the Newport Beach Film Festival in Southern California currently lists two screenings of Takeshi Koike's anime film Redline. The first is at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 2 at the Big Newport 4 theater in Newport Beach, and the second is at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at the Lido Theatre in Costa Mesa.
There will also be a party at 10:00 p.m. after the Big Newport 4 screening. Tickets are currently available online for US$15 for the screening only, US$25 for the party only, and US$35 for both events.
The Lido Theatre screening will not feature an after-party. Tickets to this screening cost US$12.
The festival will also screen Time Traveler: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, the 2010 live-action adaptation to Yasutaka Tsutsui's Toki o Kakeru Shōjo novel. The novel previously inspired Mamoru Hosoda's 2006 animated film, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Manga Entertainment announced last month that it would release the live-action film in North America. The film will screen at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 at the Triangle Square theater in Costa Mesa. Tickets cost US$12.
The festival runs from April 28 to May 5.
