Hato no Oyomesan, Ekoda-chan, Pū-Neko Manga Get Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The March issue of Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine is announcing on Tuesday that Haguki's Hato no Oyomesan gag manga, Yukari Takinami's Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan four-panel manga, and Masayuki Kitamichi's Pū-Neko four-panel manga all have anime adaptations planned. The release format, date, and other details for each anime will be provided in future issues of the magazine.
Hato no Oyomesan (Hatoyome) gag manga follows the surreal life of a bride who becomes part of the Hatō family with its strange animals. Haguki started the manga in 2000, and the ninth compiled book volume is shipping this month.
Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan depicts the daily life of people around Ekoda-chan, a single woman who bounces from one freelancing job to another — everything from a telephone operator and a nude model to a men's club hostess. The manga launched in 2005, and the fifth book volume shipped last August. 800,000 copies of the manga have been sold so far. Comedian Miyuki Torii is starring in a live-action television version of Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan that premiered on the NTV network earlier this month.
Pū-Neko centers around an unemployed cat. The manga began in 2004, and the fourth book volume will ship next month.
