The official Twitter accounts of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Online website and one of its staff members revealed that the Sengoku Basara film will open on June 4. There will also be a new piece of software called Sengoku Basara Chronicle Heroes for the Sony PSP portable game console this summer. More details will be posted in a future Dengeki Online article.
The final episode of the Sengoku Basara Two samurai action anime aired last September with an announcement that production on an all-new theatrical film had been green-lit. The North American anime distributor Funimation released the complete first television anime season of Sengoku Basara on DVD in October, and it also streamed Sengoku Basara Two last year.

Update: MyCom Journal reports from the "Sengoku Basara 5th Anniversary Festival ~Budōkan Party~" in Tokyo on Monday. The story of the film is set after the conflict instigated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi ended, but not before the Battle of Sekigahara determines who shall be the Shogun of Japan.
Kazuya Nomura (Sengoku Basara Two) is directing off a script by Yasuyuki Mutō (Sengoku Basara, Mobile Suit Gundam UC). Tooru Ookubo is returning as the character designer and chief animation director for the movie version at Production I.G. Voice actors Kazuya Nakai (Date Masamune), Souichiro Hoshi (Sanada Yukimura), Tōru Ohkawa (Ieyasu Tokugawa), Tomokazu Seki (Ishida Mitsunari) also reprise their respective roles.
