Shōjo Fight Volleyball Manga's Anime DVD Promo Posted (Updated)

The official website of the Japanese publisher Kodansha has begun streaming a 110-second promotional video for the anime adaptation of Yoko Nihonbashi's Shōjo Fight volleyball manga. The story follows Neri Ōishi, a high school girl who is a talented volleyball player. She once was the captain of an elementary school team that went all the way to the national tournament. However, she spent three years as an alternate at a junior high school renowned for its volleyball program. Now she is in high school with new teammates, and she gets a chance to prove herself again.
The "Nora Inu-tachi no Odekake" (The Origin of the Stray Dogs) anime DVD will ship with the special edition of the sixth manga volume on October 23. The DVD will contain about 25 minutes of SD anime, along with about five minutes of a fully-animated music video. Nihonbashi herself is writing the script for the anime, and Shunsuke Tada is directing the animators at Production I.G Tada also directed the Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations and Tsubasa: Shunraiki anime DVDs, as well as "Bungaku Shōjo", The Prince of Tennis: The National Tournament, and World Destruction: Sekai Bokumetsu no Rokunin.
The soundtrack will feature the voice cast from the manga's drama CD version and a theme song from BLiSTAR, a musical act making its Japanese debut this fall through Ariola Japan.
