Adult Swim to Run 1st Bleach Film on September 5
posted on by Egan Loo
Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block has announced through a commercial on Saturday that it will run the Bleach: Memories of Nobody film in the United States on September 5. Like Tite Kubo's original Bleach manga and the television anime series, the movie centers on the Soul Reapers (Shinigami or Gods of Death) who protect humans from the "Hollow" spirits that prey on them. However, Memories of Nobody's standalone story introduces the previously unseen "Blank" entities that also threaten mankind.
Adult Swim's website had previously listed an unnamed movie on that day at midnight EDT/PDT. Viz Media licensed and released Bleach: Memories of Nobody in theaters and on DVD in North America last year, and YTV ran the film on Canadian television last November. The third Bleach film, Bleach: Fade to Black - Kimi no Na o Yobu, opened in Japan last December.
