SMAP's Tsuyoshi Kusanagi Will Not Be Charged after Arrest
posted on by Egan Loo
Tokyo prosecutors will not indict Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, a member of the SMAP entertainment group, after he was arrested last week for public indecency. Police say that they arrested Kusanagi on April 23 after he was found naked in a park with a blood-alcohol Level 5.3 times the legal limit. Prosecutors cited Kusanagi's expressions of remorse and lack of criminal record.
Kusanagi has been staying out of public view since the arrest, and companies have pulled him from promotional campaigns and television programs. However, Ballad: Namonaki Koi no Uta-, Kusanagi's live-action historical romance which was loosely based on the plot of the Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi wo Yobu Appare! Sengoku Daikassen film, will still open in Japanese theaters on September 5. Kusanagi's management at Johnny's Jimusho said that he will probably return from his seclusion from public view soon.
