The February issue of Jive's Monthly Comic Rush magazine has announced on Friday that Slayers illustrator Rui Araizumi and Taishō Yakyū Musume. novelist Atsushi Kagurazaka will be working together on a new manga called Magical Bridge: Item Getter. The new manga will launch in the magazine's March issue on January 26. While Araizumi once drew the first Slayers manga in addition to illustrating Hajime Kanzaka's original novel version, he has not personally drawn a manga in a decade. Central Park Media released Araizumi's Slayers manga in North America.
An anime version of Kagurazaka's Taishō Yakyū Musume. novels, which centers around girls playing the newfangled sport of baseball in 1920s Japan, was announced in August. Sadaji Koike illustrated these two novels, and Shinpei Ito (Hyper Dolls, Moldiver, Cutie Honey aGoGo!) launched the manga version on July 19 in Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryū magazine.
The fourth Slayers television series, Slayers Revolution, premiered in Japan in July, and its Slayers Evolution-R continuation will debut next month. Artist Issei Hyōju (Armored Core -Tower City Blade-) ended the manga version of Slayers Revolution after launching it in May in Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine; he just launched the Slayers Evolution-R manga version in the same magazine on December 9.
