Creator of Nausicaä, Spirited Away discusses latest film's source, societal issues

The JanJan website has posted a nine-minute video excerpt from the English-translated discussion that the award-winning manga and anime creator Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea) held in Tokyo on November 20. The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan hosted this luncheon which is also available in a 90-minute audio stream, although the audio stream has playback problems outside Japan. During the luncheon, Miyazaki discusses the inspiration for Ponyo and the issues facing the society of Japan. JanJan also posted photographs from the event, while the Twitch film news website posted a text version of much of the discussion.
