Bandai Entertainment and Kadokawa Pictures have announced that Mamoru Hosoda's award-winning The Girl Who Leapt Through Time film will play at Milford, Pennsylvania during the Black Bear Film Festival on October 18. The festival in the northeastern corner of the state will screen the film's English language version. The two companies had previously announced that the film's Japanese version will play with English subtitles at Durham, North Carolina on October 6 and at Phoenixville, Pennsylvania (near Philadelphia) on November 24, 26, 28, and 29.
The film updates Yasutaka Tsutsui's classic children's novel about a girl who gains the ability to jump back in time and learns that her choices affect those around her. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Evangelion, Nadia - Secret of Blue Water) designed the characters in this 2006 film which has won awards in Japan, Spain, and France. The trailer can be seen here.
