Egg Man CG Anime to Premiere Globally on Crunchyroll
posted on by Egan Loo
The Crunchyroll video-sharing website announced that it will host the international premiere of the computer-graphics anime film Egg Man from T.O. Entertainment in the fall. The film is based on the short story of the same name from the Monologues of Universal Transverse Mercator collection by Japanese suspense author Yumeaki Hirayama. Hirayama won the short story award from the Mystery Writers of Japan in 2006 and first place in the 2007 Kono Mystery ga Sugoi awards' domestic category with this collection. The short story centers on a death row murderer named "Egg Man," a female rookie inspector named Karen, and one last unsolved case.
Before premiering the film, the T.O. Entertainment and Crunchyroll will debut a trailer online in July. The T.O. Entertainment's digital channel on the website will then add more clips and trailers until the film's premiere. The two companies also plan to offer merchandise on the site.
