Video Download Service for Japanese DS to Start in June
posted on by Egan Loo
The am3 company has announced that its DSvision download service for the Nintendo DS portable console will launch on June 26 in Japan. The company announced the service last November, but said at the time that the service would begin in March. On June 26, the DSvison Full Set Package with Photo-Miru will be sold in Japanese electronics and game stores. The DSvision.jp download site will open at noon that same day. On that site, am3 plans to offer novels as well as eventually manga, films, anime, productivity software, and learning tools. The company aims to have 2 million users within a year of the service launch. Users would download content onto a memory card with a computer, and then insert the card into a special Nintendo DS adaptor to watch or read the content. The company has yet to announce plans to expand the service beyond Japan.
