ADVFilms.com Lowers Prices on Episode Downloads

ADV Films has announced that its ADVFilms.com website is offering downloadable episodes of 32 anime series in standard, medium-resolution Windows Media format for US$1.99. It is also offering downloads in premium, DVD-quality Windows Media format for US$3.99, as well as bundles that combine the downloads with the physical DVD of the same anime.
The standard downloads have a resolution of 320x240, while the premium downloads have a resolution of 632x480. The downloads are limited to United States residents with the Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP operating system and Windows Media Player 10.X or higher.
Before the new pricing structure, ADV Films had launched its download service in September of 2006 with episode selling at US$4.99 and feature-length works at US$19.99. Among other services, IGN's Direct2Drive and TotalVid.com offer anime from Central Park Media, Funimation, Manga Entertainment, and Viz Media at US$1.99 an episode. Apple's iTunes Store offers anime from Funimation at 640x480 resolution at US$1.99 an episode.
