Los Angeles Times Interviews Sakuran Director Ninagawa
posted on by Egan Loo
Vertical's company weblog notes that writer Bruce Wallace interviewed Mika Ninagawa, the director of this year's Sakuran live-action film, for the Los Angeles Times. Sakuran is based on a manga of the same name from Moyoco Anno (Happy Mania, Hataraki Man, Sugar Sugar Rune). The movie stars Anna Tsuchiya (Kamikaze Girls' Ichigo, singing voice for NANA anime's NANA Osaki) as a girl training to be a courtesan in Edo-era Tokyo's red-light district.
