3000 players sought for beta testing of online RPG
On March 1st, game company GungHo Online Entertainment announced that they are developing an online multiplayer RPG based on the famous manga action series Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star). GungHo is currently looking for 3000 players who are willing to help do beta testing for the game via the website set up to promote the game. Beta testing is scheduled to take place from March 22nd until the 26th.
The game sets players into a recreated "world at the end of the century" where they must unravel mysteries and take on enemies. The game cuts away to a "combat field" for battles, changes the paramaters for characters based on their actions in the game, and more.
Although it has been 24 years since Hokuto first appeared in "Weekly Shonen Jump", the series continues to be a fan favorite. The popularity of the manga led to the creation of many anime and video game spinoffs, many of which were also released in North America.
