Yomiuri Article on Ghibli and Miyazaki

The Daily Yomiuri Online has posted an interview (in English) with Toshio Suzuki and speaks at length about the environment at Ghibli and Miyazaki. Of note, Suzuki repeats what has been said many times before, that Ghibli does not produce anime for foreign markets, as Suzuki stated, "It's nice to see our work recognized outside Japan. But we must not forget that we make movies here in Koganei--a town we know as well as the back of our hand--and for the people living in this area."
