On November 27th, Japanese police from the Aomori prefecture arrested a 19 year old girl on charges of burglary. The girl, who worked at a snack bar as a part-time worker, was a member of a gang of burglars, 6 men and women in total, that had named themselves "Cat's Eye," after the popular Manga by Tsukasa Hōjō.
After her arrest she admitted to other burglaries including the theft of 2.9 million yen from an automobile factory. The theft was committed after hours, with two men (arrested later for another offense), on May 20th; they entered the factory by breaking the door with a tool and stole the safe comtaining the money.
On July 16th she stole 400 000 yen from another automobile factory.
"I wanted money for a lark," she explained after she was arrested.
