TriStar Pictures is proud to announce that Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis, directed by Rintarō ("X," "Galaxy Express 999") and written by anime legend Katsuhiro Ōtomo ("Akira"), will open on January 25 in the top 10 markets in the US and Canada.
TriStar Pictures will release Metropolis on January 25, 2002 in New York and Los Angeles at the Landmark Nuart and in Orange County at the University Edwards. Metropolis is 107 minutes long and is not rated.
According to Anime on DVD the official American DVD version of Metropolis, featuring Japanese 5.1 audio, English audio, English, French and Spanish subtitles with a $27.95 list price, will be released by Columbia Tri/Star on March 12th.
