Gainax releases FLCL Volume 2 & 3 with English Subtitles

FLCL (Furi Kuri), the latest OVA series from Gainax is being released on region 2 DVD in Japanese with English subtitles. Volume one was released in Japanese only, however volumes 2 and 3 include English subtitles and the remaining 3 volumes are also expected to include English subs.
FLCL is a 6 episode OVA series from Gainax by Tsurumaki Kazuya (Evangelion, Kare Kano (Technical director)) with character designs by Sadamoto Yoshiyuki (Evangelion, Nadia, Honeamise) and screenplay by Enokido Yooji (Utena, Evangelion). Production I.G is involved in the animation side of this production.
"Piro" of Megatokyo refers to FLCL as "this really weird-ass combination of Kare Kano and Evangelion". The basic synopsis of FLCL can be read on Gainax's website (in english).
