Ponkotsu Quest Revisits Vinland Saga for New Webisode
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga and VAP's web anime Ponkotsu Quest are together again in a short webisode. This time Kakufinn (the right character) and Imuladd (the left character) discuss some interesting developments in the Vinland Saga anime's first season.
Imuladd says that his favorite scenes are the epic battles from episodes 4 and 7. Kakufinn interjects to nitpick changes between the anime and manga, such as how a scene from the first chapter took place in episode 7 instead of episode 1, to which Imuladd responds, "Who cares? Why does that even matter?" Then Kakufinn points out another nitpick from episode 6 where a cow's udders are drawn incorrectly, and another scene from the same episode where a dog is drawn to look like a cow. Kakufinn says, "That really took me out of the show." Imuladd says, "Stop getting hung up on these stupid details!" In the end, however, both of them agree that Vinland Saga is a great anime.
As in the previous collab episode, Kakufinn attempts to call Makoto Yukimura to tell him his thoughts on the anime. However, unlike the previous episode, Yukimura chooses not to respond at all.
Vinland Saga premiered with the first three episodes on July 7. The story follows the viking Thorfinn, son to one of the Vikings' greatest warriors. When his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he swears to have his revenge. Thorfinn joins Askeladd's band in order to challenge him to a duel, and ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England.
The Ponkotsu Quest previously produced a collaborative short anime with the live-action Gatchaman film in 2014. The web anime debuted online in 2013.
