Gokusen Live-Action Actors Mokomichi Hayami, Aya Hirayama Marry

Actors Mokomichi Hayami and Aya Hirayama jointly announced that they tied the knot on August 8. The celebrity pair previously starred together in the live-action TV adaptation of Kozueko Morimoto Gokusen manga. Hayami starred as Hikaru Tsuchiya and Hirayama played English teacher Aoi Takano.
The couple were already living together and have not yet set a date for a wedding reception. Hayami wrote in the statement that he is grateful for meeting Hirayama. He described her "wonderful smiling face and direct personality" as part of her charm that supports and refreshes him each day.
"For me, she's an important person I respect," Hayami wrote.
Hirayama stated that she was attracted to Hayami's attitude towards his work and personality that is "brimming with talent."
"I want to support him for a long time," Hirayama wrote.
Hayami made his debut in 2002 as Saeki Mokomichi in the live-action adaptation of Kousuke Fujishima's You're Under Arrest! manga. He's also starred in Densha Otoko, Zettai Kareshi, and recently in Tokyo Tarareba Girls. Hirayama has worked in both live-action and as a voice actress. She starred in the live-action adaptation of Hataraki Man and voiced Midori in the Black Jack: Two Doctors in Black film.
