NHK Hosts Attack on Titan Book Club TV Program

The NHK BS Premium television station hosts a program titled Series Fuka Yomi Dokushokai (Reading Too Much Into the Series Book Club) where a roundtable of writers and celebrities dive into a series and discuss their conclusions. On July 3, the show will focus on Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga.
Show participants include manga creator Hideki Arai, actress Anne Suzuki, literary critic Shigeru Kashima, and novelist Genichirō Takahashi. The club members read all 28 manga volumes and the most recent chapter available in Shonen Magazine available at the time of recording. Participants will discuss what they think the titans and main characters are fighting against, why the series is popular worldwide, and how they expect the manga to end.
Attack on Titan is the first manga ever featured on the program. The episode will air on July 3.
Isayama launched the main Attack on Titan manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009, and Kodansha published the 28th compiled book volume in Japan on April 9. Kodansha Comics publishes the series in print in English, and it released the 27th volume on April 9.
The television anime of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga premiered in April 2013, and its second season premiered in April 2017. The first part of the third season premiered in July 2018, and the second part premiered in April.
