Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine will auction off rare items this month and all for a good cause. The magazine staff will host two rounds of items from its manga properties including BEASTARS, Yowamushi Pedal, Baki and more. The first round will start on June 6 and run until June 12 followed by the second round from June 13-19. Participating artists include Paru Itagaki, Gō Nagai, Keisuke Itagaki, Tatsuya Ara, Tsunogai, Hideyuki Yonehara, Osamu Nishi, Itaru Bonnoki, Kenji Hamaoka, Wataru Watanabe, Masami Kurumada, Masakazu Ishiguro, and Yūji Nakamura.
Items include signed manuscripts, figures, and even a plaster statue of BEASTARS creator Paru Itagaki's hand. Itagaki is best known for always appearing in a chicken mask and is also auctioning off a life-size mask of the manga's hero Regoshi.
Itagaki will also draw a portrait of a person with their pet (both as animals) and will auction hand-drawn and signed art.
Yowamushi Pedal items include a bike, helmet, and shoes used by actors Yūki Ogoe (Sakamichi Onoda), Taiga Fukazawa (Shōkichi Naruko), Tatsunari Kimura (Shunsuke Imaizumi), and Keisuke Ueda (Manami Sangaku) in the television drama.
Similar to Paru Itagaki, Baki creator Keisuke Itagaki also had plaster statue made of his hand. Itagaki is also auctioning off the right to appear as a "witness" in the Baki manga, along with signed artwork and figures.
Yūji Nakamura will draw artwork for the winning bidder that includes one character plus their chosen favorite character from the Rokudō no Onna-tachi manga.
Saint Seiya creator Masami Kurumada also sunk his hand into some plaster and signed some figures for the event.
Itaru Bonnoki will add a bidder to the The Vampire Dies in No Time manga and turn the lead blood-sucker into the ashes. Alternatively, they can pay for a portrait with John the Armadillo.
For fans of prolific manga creator Gō Nagai (Devilman, Cutie Honey, Great Mazinger) there's the chance to get your photo taken at his work desk.
Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Hōkago Jidō Club (After School Children's Club), a child-care program that provides daycare for school children who does not have a parent at home after school. The funds will be distributed via the Central Community Chest of Japan.
