My Hero Academia, Bang Dream Promote Shrine's Kanda Festival
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Kanda Myōjin Shrine is an otaku hot spot. The Akihabara-area shrine was recently designated as a pilgrimage site due to its relationship to Steins;Gate and the staff have incorporated anime characters into its promotional materials and merchandise. Both Sword Art Online and Love Live! have appeared on artwork to promote the annual Kanda Festival. This year the kids of UA and the rockers of BanG Dream! will take center stage for the event.
Posters promoting the event were unveiled this month. The shrine will sell T-shirts, square badges, washcloths, posters, keychains, acrylic standees, clear files, totes and ema featuring the characters.
The Myojin Cafe in Tokyo will also hold a collaboration with My Hero Academia and the shrine from April 24 to May 27.
The Kanda Festival is one of Tokyo's most prominent festivals and includes a main procession of prayer travels throughout the area followed by a later parade of portable shrines.
