Kyoto Animation & Animation Do's Fan Event Returns with 2 Events in Fall

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

After a one-year break, the KyoAni & Do Fan Days event returns for its fourth year with the subtitle "We're Here Now!!: It's the First Festival in Two Years." The last Kyoto Animation and Animation DO fan event was held in 2017. This time the event will be split into two weekends.

The first event is titled "Presenting! Various Aspects of KyoAni & Do" and is set for November 3-4 at Miyakomesse in Kyoto. The next event is "Sound! From Kyoto to the World" and is set for November 9-10 at ROHM Theater Kyoto.

Pre-orders are open for tickets to the November 3-4 event. Tickets cost 12,000 yen and includes a two-disc Blu-ray set with a new animation work. The set is titled "Watashitachi wa Ima!! Zenshū 2019" (We're Here Now!! Complete Works 2019). The new animation work will be sold separately at a later date. The studio previously included a "Baja no Studio" (Baja's Studio) short, an anime project that centers on Kyoto Animation's mascot character Baja, with tickets to the 2017 fan event.

In addition to the Blu-ray Disc, the pre-order tickets will also include a commentary book with staff commentary on Kyoto Animation and Animation DO's works from 2017 to 2019, a work book with original illustrations and select production materials from works from 2017 to 2019, and a booklet of production materials for the Baja anime.

The event will have interactive exhibits and a recreation of the studio's production work space, similar to what was on display in 2017.

This once-every-two-years fan event tradition first began in 2013. Kyoto Animation itself was founded in 1981. The studio's anime works include The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Tamako Market, Free!, Beyond the Boundary, Sound! Euphonium, and Violet Evergarden.
