Voice Actor Takuya Eguchi's Weird Doodle Mascot Becomes Fashion Inspiration
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Voice actor Takuya Eguchi is a highly sought after voice actor. He appears in multiple anime series each season (he's starring in six right now) while also filling in the gaps in with video game work, tech projects and commercials. He also fancies himself an artist, adding doodles to his friends' CD releases, movie posters, and weirding out the official Eevee Twitter account. His art has crossed over into anime. Two of his doodle characters, "Pen-kun" and "Daiō" are mascots for Eguchi's variety program Eguchi Takuya no Oretachi datte motto Iyasaretai! (We Want to Heal Takuya Eguchi Even More!).
Daiō's "healing properties" can finally go home with fans in the form of some very unique merchandise. The cosplay shop ACOS created a fuzzy hooded jacket, purse, fabric bracelet, purse, and pouch all in the shape of Eguchi's original character. The items will be available for purchase in 10 shops across Japan starting with the bracelet on March 28. The other larger items will be introduced in May.
A hoodie like no other for 4,500 yen (US$41)
A delicate bracelet for 1,800 yen (US$16)
A small pouch for 2,100 yen (US$19)
A real eye-grabbing purse for 4,000 yen (US$36)
If you can't get enough of Eguchi, you can catch him in this season's That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, W'z, Dimension High School, Grimms Notes the Animation, B-PROJECT: Zecchō Emotion, and Domestic Girlfriend.
