GeGeGe no Kitarō's Nurikabe Finds a New Life as a Handsome Wall

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Can you make a wall sexy? Maybe in a kabe-don scenario a wall could be considered kinda sexy but that's more about the heart-pounding situation of one character blocking another into an intimate confrontation. The wall is there, of course, but it's not the focus.

Undeterred, Gatsby hair products took it upon themselves to transform GeGeGe no Kitarō's Nurikabe yōkai into a more handsome version of is usual sleepy-eyed self. Nurikabe is quite literally a wall and he his primary task in the series is to serve as a shield for Kitaro and his friends if a situation gets hairy.

Gatsby has recast Nurikabe in a collaboration manga on its website. The new Nurikabe is more attractive thanks to his use of Gatsby Perfect Skin Lotion.

The new and improved Nurikabe appears in three different stories where he finds love, takes part in a kabe-don scenario, and saves the world from an impending meteorite.

The sixth anime adaptation of Shigeru Mizuki's manga premiered in April, and is also celebrating the anime's 50th anniversary. The series is streaming on Crunchyroll, and is slated to have 50+ episodes.

The manga, which began in 1959 under the name Hakaba Kitarō, has also spawned several animated movies and two live-action films. The stories center on an inhuman boy who straddles the line between the human and supernatural worlds. Drawn & Quarterly publishes the collected manga in English.
