Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple Anime Film Inspires 7 Character Cakes

Animate Cafe is adding to its lineup of anime-inspired cakes with confections based on the Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple film. Seven character cakes featuring Atsushi Nakajima, Kyōka Izumi, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Chūya Nakahara, Osamu Dazai, Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, and Fyodor D. are available.
The new sponge cakes have raspberry jam filling, and as usual, they each come with a special character tote bag. Each cake is 15 centimeters (about 6 inches) in diameter and serves four to six people. The cakes cost 4,514 yen (about US$40) each, and Animate Cafe will begin taking orders on Friday.
The Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple anime film opened in Japan on March 3, and Crunchyroll began streaming it on Saturday. Crunchyroll already screened the film in the United States and Canada in May as part of its Anime Movie Night series.
