posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Evangelion, the dramatic mecha series that's spawned everything from Godzilla cross overs to high-end fishing gear, is getting its first wind symphony concert in September. The concert is scheduled for September 7 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre's concert hall.
The line-up includes a total of 10 tracks from the original anime series and new films, with renditions of "Decisive Battle" and "Thanatos" from the Evangelion New Wind Orchestra CDs released in 2009. The band will also perform a medley of tracks from Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.
Conductor Masamichi Amano is leading the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra for the concert with guest Eric Miyashiro on trumpet.
Tickets are available via lottery until July 5.
Evangelion opening theme singer Yoko Takahashi will kick off her own "Evangelion World Tour" in Tokyo on June 30, followed by performances in France, Hong Kong, and other countries and territories. A new music video for "Cruel Angel's Thesis" premiered last week.
