Exhibition Honors Mari to Shingo Manga Creator Toshie Kihara

The Niigata City Manga House will hold the "Kihara Toshie Genga-ten Sō Tokushū Kihara Toshie ~ Elegance no Joō~ Shuppan Kinen" exhibition from June 21 to October 9. The exhibition celebrates manga creator Toshie Kihara and the release of the Sō Tokushū Kihara Toshie ~ Elegance no Joō~ (General Special Edition Toshie Kihara: Queen of Elegance) book, which shipped on October 25.
The exhibition debuted at the Span Art Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo in November and features works from throughout Kihara's 49-year career. The displayed items include 35 color illustrations, 25 color manga manuscripts, and 24 black-and-white manga manuscripts. The displays will change between two separate display periods from June 21 to August 21 and from August 23 to October 9. Books, reproduction illustrations, and exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase.
Kihara is best known for the Mari to Shingo manga, which centers on childhood friends at an all-male school who eventually fall in love with each other. Her other manga include Angelique, Mugen Kaden, La canne et L'aile, and Mugen Kaden.
