Detective Conan Creator Tries Universal Studios Japan's Conan Real Escape Game

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Detective Conan creator Gōshō Aoyama got to try his hand at playing detective at Universal Studios Japan's "Meitantei Conan the Escape ~Zero no Prelude~" (Detective Conan the Escape: Zero's Prelude) escape game on Monday. Aoyama brought two friends who are also very familiar with his manga work to try to solve the game's puzzles and solve the mystery centering on Tōru "Zero" Amuro from Detective Conan: Zero's Executioner.

Despite their best efforts, Aoyama and his team did not successfully escape. He said, "It was a lot of fun! There was quite a lot of time [to complete the game], but it was over in a blink of an eye! I have also tried some escape games before, but this one was the most interesting so far."

Meitantei Conan the Escape ~Zero no Prelude~ is running at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka until June 24. The park is also hosting the "Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant" attraction, the "Detective Conan Mystery Challenge," and exclusive goods and food.

SCRAP is also hosting another Detective Conan-themed real escape game in Harajuku and the game will appear in a total of 32 cities throughout Japan.

The Detective Conan: Zero's Executioner film opened on April 13, debuting at the top of the box office.
